About

Hi Mama!

My name is Kowhai, and I live in Picton NZ, with my partner Adam and 4yr old daughter, Nyah. I am a qualified personal trainer, where I obtained my level 3 & 4 in Fitness at the Australian Institute of Fitness.

I created the Fitt Mum Project to help Empower other Mums to become the best version of themselves –  through movement, nutrition, and wellbeing!

I’ve been on my own health and wellness journey for over 10 years now.

Over my university years I gained a lot of weight – I tried quick fixes, fad diets, shakes, you name it. NONE of them worked long term. All I was focused on was shifting the weight. This resulted in a shot metabolism and an unhealthy relationship with food.

Somewhere along the way I joined a transformation programme that consisted of eating ‘real’ food, consistent exercise, and surrounding myself with a good support network. This programme completely changed my life! My relationship with food completely changed, I learnt about resistance training, and I walked away with the knowledge to continue with my new lifestyle. I also got into awesome shape!

After my Dad passed away in 2011, I was diagnosed with severe depression. I can wholeheartedly say that regular exercise and eating nutritious food, was my lifeline! Without it, who knows where i’d be.

It was through my journey, that I was inspired to become a PT and help others on their own path to wellbeing.

During my pregnancy I put on 20kg. It was tough losing the weight once Nyah was born, due to lack of sleep, constant sickness, lack of motivation, and well, being a Mum!  Shifting my focus from weight loss, to focusing on how good I felt, made it easier for me to show up everyday and get it done! With this came consistency, new habits, and eventually, RESULTS!

Mum life is HARD, but when you have the right support, resources, and determination, you can achieve anything you set your mind to!

I have learnt so much throughout my own health and fitness journey, and I know how hard it can be to reach your goals. That is why I have created The Fitt Mum Project – to help Mums like you not only achieve long term results, but to help you become the BEST version of you!Pi
